Empowering Districts/City and Municipal Coucils for Persons with Disabilities for effective inclusive development
The journey towards an inclusive society begins with empowered leadership. This week on Tuesday, 30th June- July 1st; we are honored to be in Arua District, West Nile Region, conducting a Capacity Building Retreat for Lower Councils for Persons with Disabilities.
This engagement is more than just a training; it is an opportunity to strengthen the capacity of leaders who are at the forefront of advocating for the rights, dignity, and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities within their communities.
By investing in the knowledge and leadership skills of Lower Councils, we are reinforcing their ability to champion inclusive policies, promote equal access to services, and ensure that the concerns and aspirations of persons with disabilities are effectively represented in local governance and development processes.
Meaningful inclusion can only be achieved when those entrusted with leadership are equipped to lead with confidence, advocate with purpose, and collaborate for lasting change. Together, we are laying a stronger foundation for communities where everyone, regardless of ability, has an equal opportunity to participate and thrive.
We look forward to productive discussions, shared learning, and building partnerships that will continue to drive disability inclusion across Uganda.
